Most modern car decks have at least one set of RCA connectors on the back, and you just run the RCA cables from there to the amp. If the box has its own connectors on the outside, make sure they are wired to the speaker inside.

If you look at all the wires coming out of the back of the head unit, there should be 1 or 2 blue ones. What I have done is wired the speaker output, into the rear speakers. Hook up the sub wires to the subs and amplifier with the car off. Make sure a large fuse is in the fuse holder.

One time I forgot about that and took off the power cable, then let it touch the metal on the bottom of my car seat.

The wiring kit should include a main power wire with an in-line fuse, a ground wire, a power-on wire for the stereo head unit, and RCA cables for the audio connection.

Which one goes where. Most often the blue wire from the head unit stereo is to connect to the REM remote line on an amp. There may be more, but this is all you'll need to properly connect your subwoofer. With small speakers with 4-inch or smaller woofers, you'll set the sub's crossover frequency at Hz or higher, and with speakers with 5-inch or larger woofers, 80Hz or lower. What you want is the RMS of both the subwoofer speaker and the amplifier to be as close as possible. Around the year , the UK national Fire and Rescue service issued a nationwide advisory about people who have done just this. I just got 2 subwoofer from a relative and I don't know if they need an external power source, they are "pioneer spare tire subwoofers TS-WX50", also when I plug them in thru my home sterio they seem to work just fine, does anybody know if I need to add external power?
